Chicago Public Schools
NSS - Lunch Program (Lunchroom Fund)
$57.0 million
Exact amount: $56,983,670.00
FY2026 (July 2025–June 2026)
Plain words: this is the food budget for school lunches, paid from the Lunchroom Fund. Two companies run CPS school food, Aramark and Open Kitchens, under one Board contract. Their payments cover all meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks, supper), so they cannot be assigned to this lunch line. Most of the money comes back from the federal government.
The money goes to a few large companies, and CPS publishes what each was paid but not which budget line it came from.
