Reserve for non-teacher staff pensions (MEABF)

$202.8 million

Exact amount: $202,791,171.06

FY2026 (July 2025–June 2026)

Reserve in case CPS must repay the City for non-teacher pensions. A separate $175M repayment to the City is not in the budget. Members and averages are for all City and CPS members, so no split by dollars is shown. CPS budgets this reserve in case it must repay the City for non-teacher staff pensions. The budget book says a $175M reimbursement depends on new revenue (budget book p.15).

This is money set aside in case the school district has to repay the City for the pensions of non-teacher staff, and nobody has decided yet if it will be paid.
